Tylor Varty's Alpine Ascent challenge for Camp Quality

After 5 long months of rigorous training, Kosciuszko National Park saw an amazing feat last month as Tylor Varty hit the beaten track for a cause close to his heart.

Tylor took on the Alpine Ascent challenge in March 2022, dedicated to his fiancé Molly, raising funds for Camp Quality. Molly was diagnosed with a brain tumour at just 3 years old and remembers her time with Camp Quality fondly. She says,

“Camp Quality was a distraction from the reality of being sick and looking different. It made what most people would assume was a nightmare childhood become a new, exciting, fun experience growing up. They invited my family to participate in many outings and family trips over the years. I guess I could say that I was lucky that I don’t remember most of my time in and out of hospital as a young girl, instead I have all the memories of the experiences with Camp Quality”

On event day the sun was shining, however a freak helicopter accident on the course meant a last minute reroute had to take place. Despite the challenges this presented, Tylor completed the event in good health and spirits, and was cheered across the finish line by his proud fiancé, daughter and family.

With the support of family and friends, Tylor crossed the finish line nothing short of a champion, raising over $5,700 to help kids facing cancer.

Camp Quality thanks you for your hard work and dedication Tylor! Your achievements will help change the cancer story for kids and families who are facing the trauma of their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of someone they love.
