Epic Motocyc journey raises $172K!

From the 25th to the 27th of March, 52 motorbike riders took on Camp Quality’s Motocyc, an epic journey to fundraise for kids facing cancer. An huge $172K was raised, the highest Motocyc fundraising total yet!

The journey started from Jayco Newcastle where Australian Super Bike Rider Max Stauffer spoke on his own cancer experience and what Camp Quality means to kids impacted by cancer.

The first leg of the journey was to Port Macquarie with riders narrowly missing floods in Wauchope.

The next day riders travelled by road to Belligen or off road to Macksville. The rain continued meaning parts of both routes had to be changed last minute, but all riders embraced the changes and came together to ensure the safety of all as they returned to Port Macquarie.

A beautiful Camp Quality family joined the Motocyc crew to share their cancer story on the second night, bringing many participants to tears and receiving a standing ovation at the end. It was no surprise then that following this the regifting auction raised over $11,000!

Camp Quality had the support of some amazing Lions clubs throughout the event providing catering and helping keep the team well fuelled – Lions Club of Walcha and Lions Club of Port Macquarie/ Taking Point. There was also the generous donation of all supplies needed to cook a BBQ lunch on Sunday from Barry Bros Butchery in Bulahdelah.

An amazing $172K has been raised – a record for this event and one which sets the bar incredibly high for 2023!!!

Gold Event Sponsors – Jayco Newcastle, Peoplefusion and Seafusion made the event possible.

A big thank you also to event partners KTM Newcastle and MotoTrekkin.
