A wacky weekend at Middle Camp
Back in January, our 10 – 13-year-old Tasmanian Camp Quality kids visited Port Sorell for a weekend filled with wacky and wonderful fun!
Starting off with a session at Splash Aquatic Centre on Friday, the kids dived head-first into water activities to kick camp off on a literal high with the huge outdoor water slide! Between the slide and various ball games, it was an energetic and enthusiastic start to the weekend.
Everyone then moved to the campsite in Banksia where they “weirded out” their cabins with silly string and streamers, covering every possible square inch.
After using a spoon for dinner and a fork for dessert, followed by a silent disco, everything was topsy-turvy by bedtime. The kids were bubbling with anticipation for an even quirkier weekend!
Saturday saw the kids engage in ‘wacky crafts’ where companions donned coveralls and got ready to become works of art. The coveralls were dedicatedly decorated by the kids, as well as faces painted ready for companions to flaunt their new looks in a fashion parade.
Zorb balls and a jumping castle rounded out the afternoon’s activities to make sure no energy was wasted! Dinner was held in reverse order, and was followed by a series of mini games that had everyone tuckered out and ready for bed.
Finally, it was time for Silly Sunday. The kids tackled a string obstacle course, and a mystery box of curious and perplexing textures. After this it was time to say goodbye to our graduating 13-year-olds who went home with smiles plastered to their faces, and many fond memories.
