Off to Wonderland for Off The Menu 2019 in Melbourne
On the 24th of May, Camp Quality's Off the Menu transformed the Grand Hyatt to an Alice-inpsired world of Wonderland.
Celebrity chef and Camp Quality Ambassador, Matthew Butcher enlisted the help of top chefs from across Melbourne and the world, who all donated their time, staff, and culinary skills to craft seven enchanting courses – one of which was enjoyed as breakfast the next day. The chefs who joined Matthew this year were: Scott Pickett from Matilda, Estelle & Lupo, Scott Huggins from Penfolds Magill Estate Adelaide, Frank Camorra of Movida, Simon Tarlington from Paringa Estate and Dan Churchill from Charley St New York.
Their scrumptious food was accompanied by magical wines from top wineries such as Many Hands, Toms Cap and Penfolds and beer from Carlsberg.
This year our cultural partners were the Australian Ballet who entertained our guests with an enchanting performance at the start of the night from two principal dancers. Later in the evening, Dean Lewis serenaded everyone with three spellbinding songs.
The marvellous Shura Taft led the proceedings for his third year, joined by special guest, Australian football legend, Brendan Fevola later in the evening!
Loretta, Ned and Scarlett, one of our inspiring Camp Quality families also shared their emotional cancer story with everyone, reflecting on the support and lifelong friendships Camp Quality fostered during the ups and downs of their cancer experience.
Off the Menu is only made possible by the generosity and goodwill of everyone involved. A special thank you to Matthew Butcher and his team, our incredible principal partners Melbourne United, Salter Brothers & Higgins Coatings and all other sponsors, partners, guests and volunteers, who together raised an incredible $350,000, ensuring we can keep on giving kids the chance to be kids again.
This incredible fundraising effort will support at least 200 kids across Victoria, giving them the chance to take a break from their cancer experience by attending one of our Kids Camps. Thank you!
Having some FOMO? Never fear! We’re thrilled to announce that Off the Menu will be coming to Adeliade next. Stay tuned!
